Govert Vroom is an Assistant Professor of Strategic Management at IESE Business School in Barcelona. Prior to joining IESE, he served on the faculty at Purdue University's Krannert School of Management. Govert Vroom has been involved in the Competitive Strategy Interest Group as the Interest Group Newsletter Editor, as a reviewer, and as a member since 2003. His main research interest is to understand the effect of manager and owner interests on competitive behavior. His research has been published and is forthcoming in Management Science, the Academy of Management Journal, and the Strategic Management Journal, and he serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Management. He earned an MBA from Boston University and a Ph.D. from INSEAD, where his dissertation work on strategic incentives was recognized with the BPS Dissertation Award. His professional experience prior to joining academia includes a position in financial control at a major telecommunications company.
