Jay Anand, Ohio State University

Jaideep (Jay) Anand is Professor of Corporate Strategy and International Business at the Fisher College of Business, Ohio State University. Previously, he taught at the University of Michigan and Ivey Business School in Canada. He earned a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, India, and master's and Ph.D. degrees from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. His interests include M&A, strategic alliances and multinational strategy. He has received several awards for his research and teaching, including the Best Reviewer Award from JIBS (2009), the Pacesetter Research Award (top research award at Fisher College) (2008), MBA Teaching awards (2009, 2007, 2003 and 1997), Best PhD Teacher award nomination (2004 and 2001), Booz, Allen and Hamilton Fellowship (2002), Best Research Paper Award in International Management (2001), the Outstanding Reviewer award from the Academy of Management (2000) and F.W.P. Jones Award for Outstanding Faculty (1996-98). He has appeared on ABC and CBS TV News, and Summit Business TV and has been referenced in The Economist, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, CEO magazine, Knowledge@Wharton and other popular media in several countries. He is a member of the editorial boards of Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of International Business Studies, and Journal of Management Studies. His research has been published in academic journals (including the Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science and Journal of International Business Studies) as well as the business press (including the Financial Times, California Management Review and the Columbia Journal of World Business).

Pierre Dussauge, HEC-Paris

Pierre Dussauge is a Professor of Strategic Management at HEC-Paris. He is a graduate of HEC and earned a PhD. in management science from the Paris-Dauphine University. He was a visiting professor of Corporate Strategy at the Ross Business School of the University of Michigan from 1991 to 2003 and has also had visiting positions and teaching assignments at Insead, at the Indian School of Business (Hyderabad), at Tsinghua Universty (Beijing), at IESE (Barcelona, Spain), etc. He is the author or co-author of several books in the field of strategic management and of many articles published in academic or practitioner-oriented journals, notably Strategic Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, International Studies in Management and Organization, Long Range Planning, European Management Journal, etc. Pierre Dussauge was the Editor of the European Management Review from 2002 to 2005

Dovev Lavie, Technion

Dovev Lavie is a senior lecturer at the Technion, a Sloan Industry Studies Fellow, and a recipient of the INFORMS TMS Best Dissertation Award and the Academy of Management Newman Award for Best Paper based on a Dissertation. He earned his Ph.D. at the Wharton School and served as an assistant professor at the University of Texas at Austin. Focusing on strategic management, his research interests include value creation and appropriation in alliance networks, relational capabilities and performance implications of alliance portfolios, as well as applications of the resource-based view in interconnected technology-intensive industries. His work has been published in leading journals. He currently serves on the boards of the Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, and Strategic Organization as well as on the Research Committee of the Academy of Management BPS Division and the Organizing Committee of the Israel Strategy Conference. He has taught various courses in strategic management at the undergraduate and executive MBA levels.

Will Mitchell, Duke University)

Will Mitchell is Professor of Business Administration in Strategy and the J. Rex Fuqua Professor of International Management at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. He is a faculty associate of Duke’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Health Sector Management Program, and Global Health Initiative. Will Mitchell teaches corporate strategy, business dynamics, and health sector strategy in the MBA, MMS, Ph.D., and Executive Education programs at Duke, as well as in partnership programs in Africa and elsewhere. He studies business dynamics, focusing on how businesses in developed and emerging markets change as the competitive environments change and, in turn, how the business changes contribute to ongoing corporate success or failure. Will Mitchell is a former SMS board member, a member of the SMS Fellows Group, a co-editor of SMJ, an editorial board member of several strategy-related journals in North America, Asia, and Europe, and a board member of Neuland Laboratories, Ltd.

Ed Zajac, Northwestern University

Ed Zajac is the James F. Beré Distinguished Professor of Management and Organizations at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. Currently, he serves as Co-Editor of the Strategic Management Journal and as an Editorial Board member of many other leading journals. In 1993, he was chair of the 13th Annual SMS International Conference in Chicago. His consulting experience includes work in the areas of strategy formulation, implementation, and strategic alliances with organizations such as Abbott, Baxter, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Brunswick, Caterpillar, Commonwealth Edison, Dade Behring, R.R. Donnelly, Gemini, W.W. Grainger, Harnischfeger, Hearst, Hollister, IBM, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Pfizer and Phillips. Ed Zajac is the current director of the Kellogg School of Management’s Center for Strategic Alliance Research.

Alfonso Gambardella, Bocconi

Alfonso Gambardella (PhD, Stanford 1991) is Professor of Corporate Management at Bocconi University, where he is also Dean of the PhD Programs. His research focuses on business strategy with emphasis on technology, innovation, industry structure and competition. He published several books and articles in a wide range of Journals. His MIT Press book Markets for Technology (with Ashish Arora and Andrea Fosfuri) is widely cited. He is Editor of the European Management Review, and serves on the Editorial Board of Strategic Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Global Strategy Journal, along with other journals.

Maurizio Zollo, Bocconi

Maurizio Zollo holds a Ph.D. degree in management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a laurea degree in monetary economics from Bocconi University. He is currently the Director of the Center for Research in Organization and Management and the Bocconi Dean’s Chaired Professor in Strategy and Corporate Responsibility at Bocconi University. Maurizio Zollo serves on the Executive Committee of the European Academy of Management and of the European Academy of Business in Society, of which he is one of the co-founders. He also serves as associate editor or on the editorial board of five leading academic journals in the strategy and organization studies fields. Before joining Bocconi University in September 2007, he served for 10 years on the faculty of INSEAD in the strategy department.

Steve Tallman, Richmond

Stephen Tallman is the E. Claiborne Robins Distinguished Professor of Business at the University of Richmond. He earned his Ph.D. in strategy and international business from UCLA in 1988. He served as chair of the International Management Division of the AoM (1998-99) and of the Global Strategy Interest Group of the SMS (2001-2005). He was elected to the Fellows of the AIB in 2008. He has served on the editorial review boards of several journals, including SMJ, and has been an Associate Editor of SMJ since January 2007. He has co-authored or edited three books relating to international strategy, and has published numerous book chapters and journal articles in a variety of outlets including AMR, AMJ, SMJ, CMR, MIR, JIM, and JIBS. His research interests include global outsourcing, international diversification, industry clusters, knowledge transfer in multinational firms, and international alliances and joint ventures. He has been on the faculty of the University of Hawaii and the University of Utah, and has taught at the Cranfield School of Management, Warwick University Business School, Judge Institute of Management at Cambridge University, Thunderbird AGSIM, and SDA Bocconi, among others.

Sri Zaheer, Minnesota

Srilata Zaheer (Sri) is the Elmer L. Andersen Chair in Global Corporate Social Responsibility and the Associate Dean for Faculty and Research at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. Sri received a Ph.D. from the Sloan School of Management, MIT, and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. Sri’s research focuses on the legitimacy of multinational enterprises and the liability of foreignness, and on the influence of technology on international organization. She is the Reviewing Editor of the Journal of International Business Studies and a founding member of the Academic Council of the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad, India. Sri has taught courses in international management in MBA and executive programs in the US, China, Poland, Brazil and India. Before she discovered academics, Sri worked for major MNCs, including Sandoz and the Tatas. She has also worked as the Nigerian correspondent for Business International. Sri has published extensively in major journals such as the Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, Management Science and Organization Science.
